Dr. Sara Liddell received her bachelor’s degree in veterinary science from the University of Idaho followed by a veterinary degree from Washington State University. This is when formal training for most veterinarians ends, but Dr. Liddell was accepted into a top-level internship program at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego (vshsd.com). The 80-100 hour work weeks allowed her to gain experience and knowledge that normally takes 3-5 years to achieve. She received advanced training in medicine and surgery by some of the best veterinarians in the country. She then went on to do residency training in emergency and critical care at one of the largest veterinary specialty hospitals in the country, the Veterinary Referral Center of Colorado.
Dr. Liddell has worked with specialists in almost every field of veterinary medicine and has used her time with them to make her a more knowledgeable and well-rounded veterinarian. She then came back to her home town of Boise to work as the Chief of Emergency Medicine at WestVet Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital for 5 years, Idaho’s only emergency and specialty hospital.
